Where are you from, Tim? I'm from Asheville, NC originally but my family moved to Crewe, VA when I was a year old. I grew up out in the country of Southside VA. I moved back to Asheville, NC when I was 18 to intern at Crossroads Studio in Arden, NC. I also worked as an intern at Trinity Baptist where I studied under Minister of Music Jay Boyce. I met my wife Amanda at Trinity Baptist and when God called us to serve Him in VA we moved to Midlothian to work at Jetersville Baptist Church in Amelia county.
What’s your favorite verse(s)? John 8:36 “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” Ephesians 2:4-6 “But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus” Galatians 6:13-16 “Not even those who are circumcised keep the law, yet they want you to be circumcised that they may boast about your circumcision in the flesh. May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is the new creation. Peace and mercy to all who follow this rule—to the Israel of God.”

When I was 15 I suffered a major burn that almost took my life, but God took care of me and I’ve known He’s had His hand on me since I was a little boy. I still have a scar on my hand. About Tim

Avery Road is a Christian music duo made up of Tim Wade and Jason Burton that blends country, southern gospel, and contemporary to create a sound that’s all their own. They began in the Spring of 2015 after Tim and Jason had spent years preparing for this latest endeavor. Tim was a sound engineer for Crossroads Music, one of the largest Southern Gospel labels in the country. He went on to be associate pastor at his father’s church, Jetersville Baptist Church in Amelia, VA. Jason toured with his sister in a duo called Belief in the early 2000’s when they had 2 top 20 national singles on the contempoary Christian radio chart.

Avery Road’s 3rd full-length cd entitled “Homesick” was released in Spring of 2017. it has 12 songs including a cover of the Southern Gospel anthem “I’ve Never Been This Homesick Before”. Jason has had several of his songs recorded by various artists, and he wrote 9 of the 12 songs on the new cd including the crowd favorite and future radio single “All For Me”.

The guys just scored their first national hit on the Singing News Top 80. Their pro-life anthem, “She Knows” was released nationally through Heritage Communications(Jeff and Sheri Easter, Jason Crabb) out of NC and it officially entered the national chart in March. The song has been used by multiple pro-life organizations and different promotional campaigns for pro-life causes. The song has a music video that was produced and released and it’s been a life changer for many who’ve seen it.

With a sound that really is a good mix, Avery Road’s music is appealing to fans not just of Southern Gospel, but country and contemporary as well. “We see the older folks liking a lot of the stuff we do, but we also have a little bit of a progressive edge to us that allows us to appeal to the younger crowd as well”, says Jason. “It’s NOT quartet style music”, says Tim, “but it’s in that progressive Southern Gospel mix”. The main thing is that the duo wants to represent Jesus and share him with the audience whether that be on the cd’s or in concert. They do mostly originals in concert but also will lead a hymn or worship song depending on the crowd. Several top Southern Gospel radio programmers have said that Avery Road has the ability and talent to be a big part in bringing the older generation and younger folks together and continue the rich heritage of gospel music into the coming years.

God is using this duo to bring souls into the kingdom and to change lives. It doesn’t get better than that!!!!
